While you probably already know that protein is important for your body, you may not know how easy it can be to get protein into your body. After all, just because you are unable to eat meat every meal does not mean you should be unable to get protein into your body! It is recommended that each person get at least 50 grams of protein each day; once you know the foods that have protein, this can actually be quite easy. You are taking care of a large portion of your protein needs for the day if you start out the day with two or three eggs. Each egg has about six grams of protein, so if you have three eggs in the morning, you only need 32 more grams the rest of the day. Another great place to get protein is from nuts, and peanuts are the best nuts of all. Peanuts give you a lot of the protein you need without bogging you down with a lot of the other stuff you do not need, which is the biggest reason why they are so great for you. You can also get great protein from peanut butter, as each tablespoon contains about 7 grams of protein! Of course, fish are one of the healthiest foods you can eat, but they are also extremely rich in proteins. Another great source of protein - one that may already be a part of your daily life - is dairy products such as yogurt and milk. Finally, one really easy way to get lots of protein all at once is by drinking smoothies that have protein powder in them. If you add protein powder to a smoothie that includes orange juice, bananas, and strawberries, you can have a healthy treat that is great for any time of day! @@AMAZONTEXT;0982207700;Check out The Primal Blueprint@@ - one of the best books for helping you understand how to lead a healthy lifestyle! If you are wanting to whip your body into shape, you might have considered the possibility of using a personal trainer. Personal trainers can provide you with many benefits, including the creation of workouts that specifically fit your needs. Furthermore, the personal attention and instruction you receive from these knowledgeable experts can be invaluable. At the same time, however, too many people end up with a "knowledgeable expert" who happens to not be so expert or knowledgeable after all! When it comes to picking a personal trainer, it is important that you choose someone who will be right for you. The easiest way to start finding a good personal trainer is the same as the easiest way to find out just about anything: ask people who know! Chances are, you probably know at least one or two people who have used a personal trainer for themselves, and they can give you insight into the people they used; also, there are many local websites where people can chime in and rate gyms and personal trainers. If you find out as much information as possible before entering into a relationship with a personal trainer, you are less likely to be surprised by the end results! Also, make sure that you are picking a personal trainer who fits your needs. Just because a friend of yours loved a particular personal trainer does not necessarily mean that the personal trainer in question is perfect for you; after all, what if your friend was wanting to accomplish something completely different with their workouts than what you are hoping to accomplish? Know what you are hoping to accomplish in your workouts, and find a personal trainer who can help make these goals a reality. Finally remember that you are the most important part of this plan to get in shape! You will not always be with your personal trainer, which means that it is not all about your personal trainer. You can make sure that you are doing your part by asking your personal trainer to help you come up with a plan that you can follow even when they are not with you. Getting into shape is not as difficult as some people make it out to be, and a good personal trainer can make it even easier. If they are a good fit for you, and if you have the motivation to succeed, you will surely be happy with the results. @@ADSENSE@@.
You want to detox, but you don’t want to buy an over-the-counter detox or cleanse kit. A simple detox plan is all you need. Follow this detailed plan over the course of a week for an effective cleanse.
Monday and Tuesday – Prepare for your cleanse by cutting all sugar and fat from your diet. Promise yourself you will not drink alcohol for the next seven days. Replace caffeine with non-caffeinated drinks for the next seven days.
Wednesday and Thursday – Eliminate processed foods, meat, and dairy from your diet. Try to drink at least 50% more water than you usually do.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday – Commit to a raw fruit and vegetable (oganic) diet for the last three days of the detox plan.
Your hardcore, three-day detox plan will look like the following: Drink plenty of the following: senna and fasting support teas, Master Cleanse lemon-water (with pure maple syrup and a bit of cayenne), and filtered water.
Be sure to eat something every couple of hours. You’ll want to keep portions small, but alternate between raw fruit and raw vegetables. Use a fruit and veggie wash to get rid of traces of pesticides.
Encourage elimination. If you feel the urge to go, act on it, allowing your body to rid itself of excess waste as often as needed.
While detoxing, it's advisable to get extra rest. Take time for regular sleep and naps.
Get a massage. Massage therapy helps your body release toxins. Ask for a full-body Swedish or deep-muscle massage. When you go in for the massage, tell the therapist you are detoxing, and be sure to hydrate well.
Exercise gently. You may want to walk, hike, or practice yoga, all of which will work up a cleansing sweat.
Cleanse your biggest organ, your skin. Enjoy lengthy showers, soaping up with all-natural products. When you're dry, use a body brush to remove dead cells and stimulate the skin.
Once your week of detoxing is over, you'll need to return to your regular ways with caution. After feeling so clean and refreshed, you may decide to change some of your ways permanently.

Artichokes are a mystery to many American dinner tables. Artichokes are really very healthy for you. It is a shame more people done embrace them. High levels of fiber, vitamin C, folic acid, and biotin are found in artichokes. They are also a good source of vitamin A, and potassium. Here is an simple example of one way to cook an artichoke. This vegetable from the thistle family does have thorns just like any other thistle. These are located at the tips of the leaves, so the first thing you want to do is cut off these thorns with a kitchen scissors. You then can cut off the top fourth to third of the small leaves. There is not much in these leaves to eat so you may as well remove them. Start some water boiling and salt the water and add a generous slice of lemon to it. Once the water is boiling add the artichokes. Somewhere between a half hour and fifty minutes you can check your artichokes to see if a leaf easily pulls off. If the leaf does come off easily, your choke is done. Once you can easily remove a leaf you can carefully remove the artichoke and allow to drain. You can dip your artichokes in a butter, salt, pepper, and lemon dip. What you then do is pull off a leaf you will only be scraping off the bottom part of the leaf that was connected to the artichoke. Dip the flehsy end in the butter dip and place into your mouth. Lighly close your teeth about half way up the leaf and pull the leaf out. Once you have eaten all of the leaves you will come to a fuzzy middle part. You will need to get a spoon and scrape off the fuzz. Don't eat the fuzz. Once the fuzz is removed the "heart" of the artichoke remains. The heart is good to eat. The stem may or may not be to your liking. This is personal preference. I personally don’t prefer the flavor. Want a fun date night food? Artichokes can be it. Take turns feeding each other. It is well work the time and effort to eat artichokes because of the nutritional value they have. @@OPTIN@@.
A bad headache can ruin your whole day. You can put an end to most headaches if you can determine what is causing them and how to make the appropriate environmental changes. When you have a headache, basically you're responding to the swelling of vains and muscles in your scalp. Pain-sensitive nerves send messages to the brain, alerting your body to the fact that something is wrong. The end result is a terrible headache. Most headaches are related to tension. Tension headaches feel like a boa constrictor has wrapped itself around your head and given you a big squeeze. You can usually identify a tension headache by the pressure you feel across the front or back of your head. There are several common causes of tension headaches including loud noise, lack of sleep, too much sugar, excessive stress, or hormonal changes. Tension headaches can usually be relieved by a nap, massage, a cool compress, or time alone in a quiet area. Another common headache is the sinus headache. You may feel this headache radiating down from the crown to spots on your face, as pressure from the sinus cavities causes this condition. For quick relief, try applying gentle pressure to your sinuses, standing in a closed bathroom with a hot shower running, removing mucus from your sinuses, and drinking hot tea or coffee. If you get a migraine headache, you may be knocked off your feet altogether. Migraines are incredibly painful headaches characterized by vomiting, intense pain, feeling dizzy, and unbearable sensitivity to light, sounds, and scents. Migraines respond best to dark, quiet, and rest. You should be alarmed if you have a headache that is severe enough to produce convulsions, excessive fever, communication problems, or muscle control issues. Head to your doctor's office to eliminate the possibility of encephalitis, meningitis, or stroke. In most cases, you can find headache relief if you change up your diet or environment. With any luck, a good night's sleep and a couple ibuprofen (or similar analgesics) will help you feel better. However, if your headaches persist or are intense in nature, you will want to see a doctor for an evaluation. @@AMAZONWIDGET;headache relief;3760931@@.
Over the last several years, many people have shifted from scoffing anytime they hear someone talk about home remedies to taking home remedies much more seriously. As people become more educated as to the dangers of certain medicines, and as to the benefits of leading a healthy, natural lifestyle, they look for ways to cure themselves at home. And even though this surprises many people who used to laugh about home remedies, many home remedies work! If you want to get into home remedies (or even if you just want to try them out and find out more about them), the first thing you need to know is the importance of prevention. If you attack an illness early on, it will always be much easier to get rid of, no matter how much you may know about home remedies. And along the same lines - but to a greater extent - it is easier to prevent an illness than to get rid of an illness. One of the big things that goes a long way in preventing illness is making sure that the foods you are consuming are as organic as possible. When your food is less processed, you are far less likely to get sick with any sort of frequency. If you are eating in a preventative manner, however, and you are still getting sick, learning about home remedies can help you get better without ever leaving the house. And furthermore, when you compare the cost of medicine to the cost of home remedies, you will find that you are saving money as well. When it comes to toning your muscles versus building your muscles, many people do not realize that the former is actually more difficult. While you typically must workout every other day in order to build muscle mass, you need to work out every day to tone your muscles! And even though you need to use higher weight to build muscle mass, you get to do low reps, while you are stuck doing high reps if you want to tone your muscles. If you are wanting to tone your muscles, however, here are a few ways to accomplish this more easily. Before you do anything else, you need to establish exactly which muscles you are hoping to tone. Too many people make the mistake of deciding they want to 'tone their whole body,' and their workouts become too intense for them to stick with them. When you pick muscles to focus on early on, pick just a few different groups, and then take the time to search for workouts that will take care of as many of these areas at once as possible. Because you are going to be working out every day in order to tone your muscles, you should choose workouts that are low-impact. Furthermore, you will also want to pick workouts that you enjoy, as this will make it easier to keep doing it every day. @@ADSENSE@@. Also, when it comes to trying to tone your muscles, it is great if you can find workouts that you enjoy, so that you will not even feel like you are "working out." One such workout is yoga, which is actually a great workout for helping you remain healthy as well as for toning your muscles. After you have been working out for a while and finally get your muscles as toned as you want them, switch to a different group of muscles, returning to that first group periodically. You will eventually tone all the muscles in your body you want to tone as you continue to do this, and then, you can start to rotate through these different muscle groups, working each one out for a couple weeks at a time. Although toning your muscles can be a little bit of work at first, it is well worth it, and the results will be tremendous once you get to a place where you can remain consistent with it. @@ADSENSE@@.
While the idea of insomnia has been over-dramatized in cinema and even in literature, what many people simply want to know is: Do I have insomnia myself? Many people think that insomnia is a sort of terrible sickness or disease, deriving these thoughts from the heavy-handed influence of art. Actually, insomnia is merely a symptom, or a sign, of disease, and is not a sickness or disease itself. Put plainly, one has insomnia if they have difficulty falling asleep or difficulty remaining asleep. Of course, the severity of one's insomnia can vary from case to case - can, in fact, be so severe as to prevent sleep altogether - and one must keep this fact in mind when deciding whether to seek medical attention. For instance, it might not be worth the time and effort of seeking medical treatment if you toss and turn a bit before falling asleep, but then sleep soundly throughout the rest of the night without any troubles. This delay of sleep - or "light insomnia" - might be brought on by something as simple as stress or uptightness. Once you solve the stress itself, you will find that the insomnia goes away. On the other hand, you might be dealing with a severe case of insomnia, where you have a hard time sleeping through the night (or are completely unable to sleep) even when your body is tired and totally sleep-deprived. If you have a severe case of insomnia - finding that you are unable to fall asleep, or are unable to get good sleep, no matter how tired you are - consider seeking medical assistance. Insomnia can be a symptom of any number of disorders, many of them dealing with mind- or muscle-related issues. Also, medication can be a cause of insomnia. Insomnia can be kept at bay by using any number of prescribed drugs, or it can be removed entirely by curing the disease that is causing the insomnia. By seeking medical assistance when you have a severe case of insomnia, you can find out what is causing the insomnia, and you can take measures to solve this problem. @@ADSENSE@@.
Many doctors recommend this because fish oil is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which has been proven to be beneficial for your health. It begs the question: do you need to eat fish or consume fish oil to get the omega-3 fatty acids you need? You may have heard of people taking fish oil supplements to improve heart health. How much do you need, and why is this so good for your heart? Doctors have studied omega-3 fatty acids and come to the conclusion that they are vital to heart health. Omega-3 fatty acids are credited with improving heart and artery health, which can affect everything from risk of heart disease to lower blood pressure and healthier arteries. What are the best ways to get your daily allowance of omega-3 fatty acids? The natural source is fish, but nuts and soybeans also contain one of the three omega-3 fatty acids (ALA – alpha-linolenic acid). Because of the concern regarding fish health (some have absorbed and will pass on pesticides or mercury), you may wish to vary your sources of omega-3 fatty acids so you eat some fish, some nuts, some soy products, and take some fish oil supplements. How much should you take? You’ll want to be careful not to take too much because there are health risks associated with too much omega-3 fatty acids. Risk of bleeding is the biggest concern, so make sure you don't take too much omega-3 fatty acids if you are already vulnerable to bleeding issues. Interestingly enough, how much omega-3 fatty acids you need is determined partially by how much omega-6 fatty acids you consume. You are consuming omega-6 fatty acids every time you eat linoleic-rich vegetable oils. If you eat less omega-6, you'll need less omega-3. Most Americans would benefit from eating fatty fish two times a week and eating soy and nuts every day. If you eat a lot of vegetable oil, you'll need to eat more omega-3 fatty acids in order to see the benefits. Consult your doctor, bringing up all concerns, including heart health and bleeding issues, to determine how much omega-3 fatty acids is right for you. You will want to take precautions with children in particular; ask your doctor if fish oil supplements will be helpful or harmful for your child before giving them supplements.

You certainly understand what a hassle it can be to feel unusually tired, especially if you have ever dealt with this yourself. After all, we need to be awake in order to function. If we are feeling more tired, our thinking can be impaired, and life can be a lot less enjoyable. While some people find that caffeine and energy drinks are a good way to help themselves when they find that they are feeling tired all the time, other people cannot drink caffeine or energy drinks; perhaps these drinks do not work for them, or perhaps these drinks work so well that they keep the person up throughout the night. Here are some healthy, natural alternatives to caffeine and energy drinks. The first and most important way to keep from being tired is to get more sleep. Even though this might seem like an elementary solution, too many people do not get enough sleep, and this is the reason why they feel tired all the time. Each and every night, you should try to make sure you get your body at least eight hours of uninterrupted sleep. If you are consistently giving your body less than this, this could be one reason why you are so tired. Another great way to make sure you stay awake is to take a short nap in the middle of the day. Although many places of employment do not allow "nap breaks," they do usually allow lunch breaks! Anytime you take a nap during the day, it should never last longer than thirty minutes, lest is makes you feel even more tired. And during your lunch break, it is very easy to squeeze in a 15-30 minute nap. Finally, be aware of what you are introducing into your body. Your body is more likely to feel tired if you are always feeding it foods that are full of sugar and preservatives. Furthermore, if you are only eating two or three big meals per day, your body will feel tired. Instead of doing this, you should eat all throughout the day - small, healthy meals. Not only will this help your body to start feeling more awake, but it will also keep your body looking thinner than it would on three meals per day! It is not very difficult to keep yourself from being tired. By simply making some small adjustments to your lifestyle and routine, you can feel a whole lot better! @@ADSENSE@@.
